Mexican Luchador Masks
In this project, 3rd and 4th grade students learn about Luchadores, the masked wrestlers who are so popular in Mexico, and the colorful masks they wear. They also learn about the color wheel, and how to create contrast using color. Then, students create their own luchador masks from felt using contrasting colors and symmetrical balance. Finally, they complete a worksheet naming their fighter and describing his or her special moves, the villains he or she fights, and so on. We also research the Spanish translation of their fighter names.
