A Seat at the Table was created by a small group of students at Lincoln West School of Global Studies, in collaboration with the Julia de Burgos Hispanic Cultural Arts Center and Metro West Community Development Organization. Students discussed what diversity looks like in our community, and what it means to have diverse representation. We looked at the many nations of origin in the neighborhood surrounding our school, then researched the national flowers of these countries to create a composition that explodes with color and symbolically represents the diversity of our shared community.
